Arsenal Dominates Lens with a 6-0 Victory to Secure Champions League Last 16 Spot

Arsenal showcased their dominance in a remarkable 6-0 victory over RC Lens, securing their place in the last 16 of the Champions League. With goals from six different players, the Gunners proved their attacking prowess in a freezing night at The Emirates.

Returning to European football’s biggest club competition after a seven-year absence, Arsenal needed just one point to qualify for the knockout stages. However, they surpassed expectations by sweeping Lens off the park and securing all three points.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, stating, “Today we were really attacking and we played to dominate the game – and we achieved that… Today we were really effective.”

With four wins out of five games, Arsenal currently leads Group B with an impressive 12 points. On the other hand, Lens, sitting in third place with five points, can no longer reach the last 16.

The Gunners took an early lead in the 13th minute when Kai Havertz scored a scrappy goal. As Lens struggled to clear the ball, Gabriel Jesus found Havertz on the edge of the box. Havertz then calmly prodded the ball past Lens keeper Brice Samba from close range.
